GSPro setup guide for beginners
New to GSPro? Here is the whole picture in plain terms: what you need, how the pieces fit together, and how to go from an empty room to playing a course. Then the part most setup guides skip: how to actually control the game once you are standing over the ball.
Set up GSPro in five steps
Work through these in order. Each one builds on the last.
- STEP 1
Get a compatible launch monitor
GSPro reads your shot from a launch monitor. Check that yours is supported through GSPro Connect or the OpenAPI before you buy. This is the one piece you cannot skip.
- STEP 2
Set up your hitting space
You need room to swing, a hitting mat, and something to hit into: an impact screen in an enclosure or a net. Leave clear space behind the ball so the monitor can see the strike.
- STEP 3
Install GSPro on a Windows PC
GSPro runs on Windows and needs a paid subscription. Create your account, download the installer from the GSPro site, and install it on the PC that drives your screen or projector.
- STEP 4
Connect your launch monitor
Open GSPro Connect (or your monitor app) and pair the monitor with GSPro. Once linked, GSPro shows it as connected and your shots start registering.
- STEP 5
Calibrate, then play
Set your hitting position and tee height, fire a few test shots to confirm the data looks right, then load a course and play. From here you control everything from the keyboard, or your phone.
The short version of what you need
A supported launch monitor, a Windows PC with a real graphics card, and a GSPro subscription. To play, add a hitting mat and an impact screen or net, plus a screen or projector. Budget for the launch monitor and the room first, since they cost the most and shape everything else.

The step most guides skip: controlling it
Once GSPro runs, you still have to change clubs, drop the grid, and move the camera between shots. Course Control puts those on your phone. Scan a QR code, no app install. See how it works.
GSPro setup FAQ
What do I need to run GSPro?
Three things: a supported launch monitor, a Windows PC that meets the spec, and a GSPro subscription. To actually play you also need a hitting mat and an impact screen or net to hit into, plus a screen or projector to show the game.
Does GSPro run on Mac?
No. GSPro is Windows only. If you have a Mac, you would need to run Windows on it or use a separate Windows PC for the simulator.
How much does GSPro cost?
GSPro is a paid subscription rather than a one-time purchase. Check the GSPro site for current pricing, since it changes. Your launch monitor and hitting setup are separate, larger costs.
Do I need a powerful PC for GSPro?
GSPro is more demanding than a casual game because it renders detailed courses in real time. A dedicated graphics card is strongly recommended. Check the current minimum and recommended specs on the GSPro site before buying a PC.
How do I control GSPro once it is set up?
GSPro maps its menus to keyboard shortcuts: change clubs, take a mulligan, drop the green grid, move the camera. Reaching for the keyboard between shots is awkward, so many players use Course Control to put those controls on their phone instead. See the guide on controlling GSPro from your phone.
What is the easiest way to manage GSPro during a round?
Put the controls in your hand. Course Control turns the GSPro shortcuts you use most into labeled buttons on any phone or tablet. You scan a QR code, with no app to install, and tap to play without leaving your stance.
Make your new sim easy to run
Course Control turns the GSPro controls you use most into buttons on your phone. Scan a QR code and play. $30 one-time after the free trial, no subscription.
