About Course Control

Why it exists

I run GSPro in my own sim setup. The shot part is great. The menu part is not. Club changes, the green grid, the camera, a mulligan: every one of them lives behind a keyboard shortcut. Finding the controls on the keyboard between shots got old fast.

I tried the other ways first. A mounted keyboard with the shortcuts printed on a card above it. A phone controller app from the app store. And a heavily customized GameGlass layout I built and loved, because I cared about how it felt to use. That layout is what started Course Control. The same attention went into how this one feels and looks.

I keep an older tablet in the bay, and I wanted it to just work in the browser, with no app to install or update on it. No iOS or Android build to match, no minimum OS that leaves an older device behind. No monthly fee. No subscription. No account to create. As little as possible between you and playing, for me and for anyone who comes over.

So I built the thing I wanted: the GSPro controls I actually use, as labeled buttons that load in any browser. It worked well enough in my own bay that I cleaned it up and made it something other sim golfers can use too.

The whole goal was no barrier at all. A buddy comes over, grabs the iPad by the mat or pulls out his own phone, scans the code, and plays. No app store, no login, no "here is how it works" speech. That ease is the whole point, as much for them as for me. Course Control is me chasing it: the controls you need, with the least to set up.

Who builds it

Course Control is an independent product from a solo maker who plays sim golf. It is not a big company and not a side project from a hardware brand. That keeps it simple: I pick which controls matter by using them, and I answer support email myself. A real person reads what you send.

How I think about it

A few principles shape the product:

• Local only. Your phone talks to your PC over your own WiFi. Control signals never leave your network. The only time it touches the internet is the license check.
• No account. There is nothing to sign up for to play. Scan the code and go.
• Buy it once. $30, one time, no subscription. Updates within the version are free.
• Honest about limits. The build is new. If something is rough, the help page says so plainly, and you can email me.

Course Control works with GSPro but is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by GSPro. GSPro is a trademark of its respective owner. I name it only to describe what Course Control controls.
