Control GSPro on Android
GSPro runs only on a Windows PC, with no official Android, Samsung, or Pixel app. The good news: you can use the Android device in your pocket as the controller. Scan a QR code and your Samsung Galaxy, Pixel, or any Android tablet becomes a wireless GSPro remote, no Play Store download needed.
GSPro is Windows-only, your Android is the remote
GSPro is a PC golf simulator. It needs Windows and a graphics card to render the courses, so there is no version for Android, Samsung, Pixel, or any tablet. That is why searching for a GSPro Android app turns up controller apps instead of the game itself.
A controller app does not run the game. It turns a phone or tablet into the remote for GSPro running on your PC, so you change clubs and aim from your hitting mat instead of walking back to the keyboard. Course Control is that remote, and it runs in your Android browser with nothing to install on the device.
Use your Android phone or tablet as a GSPro controller
Four steps, about a minute from download to your first tap.
- STEP 1
Install Course Control on the PC
GSPro runs on Windows, so the small Course Control app installs on that same PC. It auto-starts and shows a QR code. The 14-day trial needs no card.
- STEP 2
Put your Android device on the same WiFi
Connect your Samsung, Pixel, or any Android phone or tablet to the same network as the PC. Any home WiFi works. There is nothing to download from the Play Store.
- STEP 3
Scan the QR code
Open the camera on your Android phone and point it at the code on the PC screen. Tap the link and the controller opens right in Chrome.
- STEP 4
Tap to play
Change clubs, drop the heat map, aim, take a mulligan, and move the camera from labeled buttons. Add it to your home screen from the Chrome menu for a full-screen, app-like feel.
Why a cheap Android tablet makes a great GSPro remote
You do not need a flagship. Any Android device with a browser works.
Course Control
A web-based remote. No Play Store download, no subscription, $30 one-time. Works on Samsung, Pixel, Android tablets, Amazon Fire, and any browser, including older devices.
App-store controller apps
Dedicated GSPro controller apps you install from the Play Store, with a companion app on the PC. Touch controls and a macro builder, usually on a monthly or yearly subscription.
Grid and DIY apps
General touch-grid overlays and free macro apps you set up yourself. Flexible, but you build and maintain the layout, and the buttons are not golf-native.
On an iPhone or iPad instead? See using GSPro on iPhone and iPad. For a full feature-by-feature breakdown, see the GSPro remote comparison.
Stays on your WiFi
Control signals travel directly from your Android device to your PC. Nothing goes over the internet, and there is no account to create.
No Play Store needed
The controller is a web page. Scan the QR code and play. It works on Samsung, Pixel, and Android tablets the same way.
Safety mode built in
Input is ignored unless GSPro is the active window, so a stray tap never reaches your desktop.
GSPro on Android: FAQ
Does GSPro have an Android app?
GSPro itself has no official Android, iPhone, or iPad app. The game runs only on a Windows PC. What you can get is a controller app: a phone or tablet that acts as the remote for GSPro running on the PC. Course Control does this through your Android browser, so there is no app to install at all.
Can I use GSPro on a Samsung phone or tablet?
You cannot run the GSPro game on a Samsung device, because GSPro needs a Windows PC. You can use a Samsung Galaxy phone or Galaxy Tab as the controller, though. Scan the QR code and your Samsung becomes a wireless remote for clubs, aim, camera, mulligans, and more.
Does GSPro work on a Galaxy Tab?
Yes, as the controller. A Galaxy Tab makes a great GSPro remote: the larger screen fits more buttons, and because Course Control is a web page it loads on any Galaxy Tab, including older models the Play Store will not let you install new apps on. Prop it by the mat and play.
Can I use a Google Pixel or Amazon Fire tablet?
Yes. Any Android device with a modern browser works, including Google Pixel, OnePlus, and Amazon Fire tablets. A cheap Fire tablet left by the hitting mat is a popular, low-cost way to keep the controls in reach.
Is there a GSPro app on the Play Store?
The GSPro game is not on the Play Store, because it only runs on Windows. Some controller apps are, and most charge a monthly or yearly subscription. Course Control runs in your Android browser instead, so there is nothing to download. It is $30 one-time with no subscription.
Does it work on iPhone and iPad too?
Yes. Because the controller is a web page, it works the same on iPhone and iPad as it does on Android. For an Apple walkthrough, see the guide on using GSPro on iPhone and iPad.
